Description
Anton Bruckner was one of the greatest organ virtuosos of his time and an outstanding improviser, but he left hardly any original works for the organ. His passion was the symphony, and many themes for it are said to have occurred to him at the organ. What could be more natural than to transfer Bruckner’s grandiose symphonic creations to the organ? Hansjörg Albrecht began in 2020 with the complete recording of all Bruckner symphonies as organ transcriptions, at Bruckner’s places of activity and other original locations.
