Brown University is a US university located in Providence, the capital of the state of Rhode Island. Brown is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the USA. It is one of the eight so-called Ivy League universities in the United States. It was founded in 1764 as a college in the English colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
