Description

This very special film is dedicated to contemporary U.S. composers who, with their different styles, each became groundbreaking in their own right. Music by Philip Glass (*1937) and John Adams (*1947) can be heard – both music is classified as so-called “Minimal Music”. George C. Baker (*1951) who composes in the tradition of the Great American Music. Lastly Hans Zimmer (*1957), who has written the music for countless Hollywood blockbusters. The sound of these four composers, transferred to the organ, has a very special appeal. Especially when such prominent organists sit at the console as here: Paul Jacobs, Roger Sayer, Mark Steinbach and Stephen Tharp!
