This year marks the 32nd International Organ Festival in the “Italian Capital of Culture” – Bergamo and Brescia. Once again, the festival features musicians of the highest profile and charisma. The opening concert by László Fassang, holder of the improvisation chair at the Conservatory of Paris, takes place at the Bergamo Cathedral. This is followed by Samuel Gaskin, winner of the 2023 St Albans International Organ Competition. The third concert of the Festival takes place at the little church of the Beata Vergine del Giglio, where the oldest organ in the city is housed. To accommodate the limited seating, Dutch organist Pieter van Dijk will play two concerts on the same evening.

Frédéric Blanc, Titular Organist of Notre Dame d’Auteuil, opens the 2024-2025 Concerts at Saint Thomas season with a musical tour of the French organ masters of the 19th and 20th centuries. Music to include Cochereau, Tournemire, Duruflé, Vierne, Fleury, Dupré and Blanc’s own improvisations.

In 1862, Cavaillé-Coll rebuilt the existing organ built by François Henri Clicquot – a masterpiece that was considered one of the finest of the French kingdom. This recital will be given by the titular organists of one of Paris’ best-preserved Clicquot organs, that of Saint-Gervais church. Gaétan Jarry, Aude Heurtematte and Nicolas Bucher will demonstrate the rich colours of the Saint-Sulpice organ with an all-French programme.

Newly appointed Northrop Organist Greg Zelek will be playing his first concert in this role with expert selections from a wide-range of repertoire. As Northrop Organist, he will serve as a performer, educator, advisor, and resident artist, as well as oversee ongoing care of Northrop’s spectacular and historic Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ.

The tenth concert of the Tabernacle Organ Virtuoso Performance Series features Seth Bott, Director of Music and Organist at St. James Episcopal Church in Midvale, Utah. He served for many years as a Guest Tabernacle Organist on Temple Square and participated in the daily recital series performed on the famous instrument.

Das Festival wartet wieder mit Musikern von höchstem Profil und Charisma auf. Das Eröffnungskonzert von László Fassang, Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Improvisation am Pariser Konservatorium, findet im Dom von Bergamo statt. Es folgt Samuel Gaskin, der Gewinner des Internationalen Orgelwettbewerbs von St. Albans 2023. Das dritte Konzert des Festivals findet in der kleinen Kirche der Beata Vergine del Giglio statt, in der die älteste Orgel der Stadt steht. Aufgrund der begrenzten Sitzplätze wird der niederländische Organist Pieter van Dijk zwei Konzerte am selben Abend spielen.

Dieses Konzert wird von den Titularorganisten einer der am besten erhaltenen Clicquot-Orgeln in Paris, der Kirche Saint-Gervais, bestritten. Gaétan Jarry, Aude Heurtematte und Nicolas Bucher werden die farbenprächtige Pracht der Saint-Sulpice-Orgel mit einem rein französischen Programm demonstrieren.
